Analysis → Path → Go-Live
Here’s how we get you to the Atlassian Cloud safely
A clearly structured migration path: from analysis to go-live, with a clear outcome at every stage.
Our Methodology
Six steps — each with a clear outcome
Every step drives toward a clear result. We don’t bill for busywork. We deliver a defined outcome at every phase, so you always know exactly where you stand.
01AssessFull visibility into your environment: instances, apps, integrations, and data volumes, all mapped out.
What actually happens
We fully inventory your Atlassian environment: which instances are in use, how many active users, which Marketplace and custom-built apps, which connected systems? The result is a solid data foundation instead of guesswork — the basis for every decision that follows.
02PlanA committed migration roadmap with strategy, timeline, and a runbook draft.
What actually happens
Based on the assessment, we build a custom migration strategy with a roadmap, timeline, and clear roles — and draft the runbook that will guide execution.
03PrepareA clean system ready for the Cloud: data tidied up, permissions tightened.
What actually happens
We clean up data, consolidate projects and spaces, check app compatibility, adjust permissions, and finalize the runbook. No legacy baggage carries over into the Cloud, and your environment is fully prepped.
04TestRisk reduced before go-live through test migrations and user acceptance testing.
What actually happens
We run at least one complete test migration into a separate Cloud instance and verify that data, permissions, workflows, and app functionality all transfer correctly. User acceptance testing confirms the Cloud environment holds up day to day — before go-live.
05MigrateA safe, lossless move of all your data — closely monitored and run to a fixed runbook.
What actually happens
We execute the production migration to a fixed runbook, stay closely engaged, and respond immediately to any deviations. Your data moves to the Cloud completely and without loss.
06LaunchValue unlocked in the Cloud — teams trained, operations stabilized.
What actually happens
Your systems go live in the Cloud. We support the stabilization phase, secure functionality and access, train your teams, and put governance and change communication in place, so operations stay reliably stable going forward.
Marketplace Apps
Migration paths for your apps
Established Cloud paths already exist for the apps that matter most. We check every app individually — and find a workable solution even without an official path.
Established Paths
A defined Cloud path already exists
Aura
Our own app — Confluence pages migrate in full, macros included.
draw.io
Our own app — diagrams migrate reliably with full data integrity.
Xray
Test cases, executions, and history move to the Cloud without disruption.
ScriptRunner
Scripts and custom logic get ported to Connect/Forge and verified.
Tempo
Time and planning data, including historical logs, are preserved.
What Doesn't Move 1:1
We won’t sugarcoat it: some things can’t easily be copied over. That’s exactly where a planned migration earns its value:
Custom Code
In-house builds need to be re-evaluated for Forge/Connect, sometimes rebuilt.
Older Plugins
Apps without active Cloud development need an equivalent.
Certain Workflows
Highly custom automations get translated to Atlassian Automation.
On-Prem Connections
Integrations behind the firewall need to be reconnected.
We flag these points early and transparently — not right before go-live.

Common Pitfalls
Where migrations often fail — and how we prevent it
The Pitfall
Our Approach
Apps without a migration path discovered too late
Right before go-live, a business-critical app turns out to have no Cloud equivalent.
A complete app assessment happens as early as the assessment phase — every app has a defined path or alternative before planning begins.
User onboarding not planned for
The technology is ready, but teams can’t find their way around; productivity takes a hit.
Training and enablement are a fixed part of the launch phase; key users are brought in early.
Custom workflows undocumented
Only one person understands the automations that grew over time; nobody knows exactly what they do.
During preparation, we document and evaluate existing workflows before translating them.
Migration scheduled during peak load
A go-live at quarter-close or release peak creates pressure and mistakes.
We deliberately schedule the migration window around your business cycles, in a phase of lower load.
Security & Compliance
Security & compliance for regulated industries
For financial services, insurers, and public sector organizations, data residency and auditability shape the entire migration. The Atlassian Cloud meets these requirements today at the platform level.
Compliance
SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001 & 27018, plus available audit reports for your own compliance documentation.
Government Cloud
FedRAMP Moderate-authorized for Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management. Learn more about Government Cloud.
Atlassian Guard
SSO and automated user management (SCIM), IP allowlisting, and enforced multi-factor authentication.
We configure these features to match your internal audit and compliance requirements, and document the configuration so you can answer to auditors with confidence.

Starting Point
Around 1,500 employees, including ~400 developers, supported by a five-person IT team serving an international user base across every time zone. In use: Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.
Challenge
Monthly security updates in Data Center tied up several working days at a time — for a team simultaneously handling support, operations, and development. A self-run Confluence migration had already made it clear: the time-intensive troubleshooting involved showed that this approach wasn’t viable for the more complex Jira migration.
Approach
For Jira, the team brought in dedicated Atlassian Cloud specialists. The company handled internal communication and user coordination; we owned the migration to a fixed runbook and the troubleshooting. That let the IT team focus on what actually creates value internally: optimization, user guidance, and operations throughout the transition.
Result
Manual monthly security updates are gone entirely — they now run automatically in the Cloud. The IT team has regained capacity and now actively drives optimizations instead of spending time on maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common migration questions
How long does a migration take?
From a few weeks for clean, smaller instances to several months for large, sprawling environments. We set the timeframe after the assessment in step 1.
Can we keep working during the migration?
Yes. Right up until the actual cutover, you work in Data Center as normal. Only during the final move is the instance set to read-only.
What happens to our apps?
We check every Marketplace app individually: most have an established Cloud path, and for the rest we find a workable equivalent or alternative (often based on Atlassian Forge) — settled as early as the assessment phase.
Does the Cloud make economic sense?
Beyond eliminating infrastructure and manual updates, your team regains capacity. We work through the real economics based on your setup during our first call.
