What is Atlassian Rovo?

Rovo is Atlassian’s generative AI tool that acts as an intelligent teammate within your Atlassian Cloud products. With over 30 out-of-the-box connectors, Rovo is securely trained on your organization’s knowledge, wherever it’s stored (Jira, Figma, Google Drive, etc.), meaning you get contextual, personalized responses. It offers three main features: Rovo Search, Rovo Chat, and Rovo Agents.

How Does Rovo Licensing Work?

Rovo is automatically included in all Premium and Enterprise plans of core Atlassian Cloud products (Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management). For Standard plan users, Rovo will also be available in late 2025.

  • Atlassian Cloud Only

    Atlassian Rovo is exclusively available for Atlassian Cloud users. It is not available for Data Center or Server deployments. This means that if you are using Confluence or Jira in a self-hosted environment, you will not have access to Rovo.

  • Teamwork Collection

    Rovo is part of the Teamwork Collection product bundle, which also includes Jira Software, Confluence, and Loom. This collection is designed to provide a comprehensive set of tools for team collaboration and project management.

  • Licensing With an Atlassian Partner

    Rovo Data Center Connectors

    To fully access all of Rovo’s AI capabilities, you need an Atlassian Cloud Premium or Enterprise plan. However, if your organization has both Cloud and Data Center instances, Rovo Data Center connectors for Confluence Data Center and Jira Data Center (coming soon) are available.
