How does Bitbucket licensing work?
Bitbucket Cloud is licensed per user in Standard and Premium plans. Standard is billed monthly; Premium monthly or annually, from 10 users. Each plan includes build minutes and storage, and additional usage above plan limits is billed. Bitbucket Data Center is an annual, self-managed license and, unlike other Data Center products, has no end-of-life date.

Is buying Bitbucket through a partner more expensive?
No. You pay the same price as buying directly from Atlassian, or less. Atlassian rewards partners for the services we provide, so you don't pay extra for our help.
Is Bitbucket Data Center going away?
No. Unlike Jira, Confluence and other Data Center products, Bitbucket Data Center has no end-of-life date. Atlassian is moving existing customers to the Bitbucket Hybrid License, which combines Bitbucket Data Center, Bamboo and Bitbucket Cloud with Pipelines.
What happens when we run out of build minutes?
On monthly plans you can add build minutes in blocks of 1,000. From December 3, 2026, Atlassian bills usage above your plan's allowance for build minutes, Git LFS and Packages. Self-hosted runners keep working when you reach your limits.
Can we pay for Bitbucket annually?
Yes, on Premium. Annual billing is available for Bitbucket Cloud Premium from 10 users. Standard is billed monthly.
Does Atlassian Guard cover Bitbucket?
Yes. Atlassian Guard adds single sign-on and Bitbucket audit logs for Bitbucket Cloud, licensed per user across your Atlassian organization.
Can you co-term Bitbucket with my other Atlassian products?
